Ramakrishna Vidyut Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Pune – Mahabhringaraj Oil

Hello Everyone,

The Mahabhringaraj oil that I am reviewing today is said to be a highly effective ayurvedic oil for any kinds of scalp and hair problems. It also said to improve the quality of sleep, giving deep, sound sleep and cures sleeplessness. It also stops untimely graying and falling of hair and helps destroys dandruff, lice and nits. Claims are even made to cure Allopacia Areata & baldness.

Ingredients: I simply love the ingredient list of this oil. It consists of- coconut oil, til oil, maka, brahmi, hirda, behda, amla, nagarmotha, kachora, bawachi, jatamasi, kapurkachri, gulab, walla and permitted colour.

Price: Rs. 65/- for 100 ml

I have very thin hair due to which it is weak and tends to fall very easily if proper care is not taken. I found this oil in a medical store and having read of its benefits, immediately bought it. I used it for over four months and have completely finished the bottle now. I noticed that while this oil gives nourishment to hair, it does nothing to generate new follicles or to cure medium baldness that I am facing in the frontal area of of my scalp due to thinning of hair (my personal experience).

The oil is green in colour and is very light. It gets completely absorbed when massaged properly and is not at all sticky. A sweet fragrance of all the herbs lingers on for some time which I like very much. The bottle is transparent enabling one to see how much of the product is left. It has a dark green cap under which is a white stopper. You will have to pierce the stopper to start using the oil. I massage this oil onto my scalp in the night and it definitely soothes my senses to give me a sound sleep. I have used it on my MIL knees and she said that she experienced pain reduction after a couple of applications.

Final say: I like the oil very much as it is light and non sticky and the herbal and aromatic ingredients does a good job at soothing the senses. I will always keep a bottle of this in my kitty.

Take Care

Note: The review is based purely on my personal experience with the product. It may or may not have the same effect on others.

a small suggestion.. from my experience.. whether using oils or not.. try to lessen the use of shampoos.. give your scalp a break by using shikakai, reetha, etc. Or shampoo bars..SLS and other chemicals actually suppress the follicles and makes them dormant..worked on me 🙂

very true ife.. this is the very reason i have completely switched over to herbal remedies, SLS and paraben free shampoos and shampoo bars.. 🙂

Yes, this hair oil is good for the growth of hair and does help in reducing hair loss and also you get a good sleep after applying it. If added a little bit of castor oil along with mahabhringaraj oil it works great…

Hi Supriya. I have been reading quite a lot on the reviews of this oil. Yes, there are various experiences from differnt people. Yes there are something to good to talk/read about this oil and yes there are few reviews where the opinion is neutral.

I am looing for stopping hairloss, hair re-growth, and kind of mind and body relaxtion/sleep.

Could you please suggest me in detail

Hi, I am also using this oil from last couple of months. This oil gives you a good sleep & also helps in nourishing hair. I believe , lots of factors contribute in loss of hair & other issues related to hair's, like diet / exercise / stress etc. So , We need to look at it, not as a just hair problem but total body problem, then & only we will get desire result.
